I call partial BS on this study. I have insurance, I can afford the insurance. However, I haven't been to a doctor in years, and don't plan on it. My insurance is for the time I WAKE UP in the hospital because someone else sent me there due to me being unconcious. I cannot afford the deductables. So I refuse to ever voluntarily go in to see a doctor. I cannot afford to give him a mercedes for a prescription.

When usage of rented medical equipment is a few days longer than 30 days, service providers typically charge Medicare for TWO months rental of equipment, rather that for "one month plus one or two days". A substantial amount of Medicare money could be saved if rental costs were prorated by the day. (This situation happened with regard to a wheelchair and also to a knee splint that were prescribed for me.)

As a physician who has worked in both the public and private sector I have been witness to the "Caste System" (of America), It is alive and well in America. As a young surgeon, we would scheduled the folks with PPO (or cash patients) in the mornings and the HMO patients after we were finished- many times pushing them off for the next day.

Medicine has changed tremedously over the past 34 years I have been practicing, most surgeons pay has decreased over the years. Today, a physicians pay is regulated by some "bean counter" working at a health insurance company. At my age, I stopped accepting insurance payment a years ago- because I have built up a solid reputation I am able to charge whatever I want.

The end result is that only the wealthy can see a guy like me, I have refused to accept what "MedIcare" and "Insurance Corps" want to pay me. I did not go into medicine to be told by some cpa how much I can charge for saving someones life. Lets see a cpa save someones life!

So America wake up, when you visit your doctors/ dentist/ hospital and see a waiting room full of folks and when you finally see your doctor you notice he has little time to really speak to you. Know this, he/ she is probably seeing 30-60 patients a day because they are trying to 'MAKE SOME MONEY"! With all the bean counters cutting down the payments- a doctor is forced into seeing lots of patients in order to make a decent living.

If you don't believe me, walk into a Kaiser Permanente facility and ask to speak to a Doctor. Kaiser reports they have approx. 7.5Million members in Ca. I would like to know how many Doctors they have on staff? Most of my friend that have worked at Kaiser report to me that they are required to work non-stop, it is referred to as the McDonalds of healthcare. Now don't get me wrong my friends who work at Kaiser are great doctors, but lets dig deep into the root problem most of the Sr. VP's at Kaiser (like every Healthcare company) are CPA's and 'BEAN COUNTERS" these are the guys who like turning more profit and have never saved anyones lives.
